We have a School Council which consists of 9 pupils at present. Each class has a school council representative and these children have all been elected by their classmates during termly voting. The School Council meet with Mrs Pennington and the Chair of Governors, Mr Pilling, every second Thursday. The school council makes important decisions, after consulting with their peers, about our school. The School Council enables our children to have a voice in relation to school matters that affect their education and day-to-day school life.
Why do we need a School Council?
School councillors help to instil British Values at Cribden with fairness, respect, freedom of speech and tolerance. Our children have the right to voice and speak on behalf of the student body and to have a say when making the right decisions for all of our pupils. This is just one of the ways in which we find a way or make one!
