We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Under Section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015, all schools are are subject to a duty to have ''due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism'', know as The Prevent Duty, forming part of the schools wider safeguarding obligations. The school's procedures for carrying out The Prevent Duty include, how it will participate in and implement the Channel programme are outlined in The Prevent Duty.

The role of our Prevent Team officers is to provide practical support to tackle the problem of terrorism and extremism at its roots and prevent vulnerable people and communities from being drawn into terrorism. This includes far-right extremism and some aspects of non-violent extremism.
